Trauma Therapy
Treatment begins by assessing safety as well as client symptoms and goals. As necessary, symptoms are addressed via learning coping skills. Information and education is provided, such as the impact abuse has on individuals, the dynamics of abuse and options and resources available to clients. For some clients, trauma therapy may include telling their trauma story; for others it may not. The course of trauma therapy is individualized for each client in a way that makes sense for her/his healing process.
